The short version: BlackBound PDF processes all your files locally instantly. We never upload, store, or access your files on any server. Your data stays on your device.
1. Information We Collect
BlackBound PDF is designed with privacy at its core. We collect minimal information:
- Files you process: All file processing (PDFs, images, text) happens instantly using JavaScript and WebAssembly. Your files remain secure or any third-party service.
- Analytics data: We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand general usage patterns (page views, popular tools). This data is anonymous and aggregated.
- Cookies: We use essential cookies only for storing your theme preference (light/dark mode) via localStorage. No tracking cookies are used by us directly.
2. Third-Party Services
Our website uses the following third-party services:
- Google AdSense: We display advertisements through Google AdSense. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your visit to our site and other sites on the Internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- Google Fonts: We load the "Outfit" font from Google Fonts. Google may collect your IP address when fonts are loaded.
- CDN Libraries: We load open-source JavaScript libraries from CDNs (unpkg, cdnjs). These CDNs may log access requests.
3. Data Storage
If you choose to create an optional account (for saving projects or history), your authentication data is managed securely through Firebase/Supabase. We store only the minimum data necessary:
- Email address
- Display name (optional)
- Project metadata (file names, timestamps — never file contents)
4. Children's Privacy
BlackBound PDF does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately at bsw554@gmail.com.
5. Your Rights
Since we don't collect or store your files, there is nothing to delete. For any account-related data requests (access, correction, deletion), please email us at bsw554@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.
